SUMMARY

This position supports all facets of shipping and receiving in our secondary warehouse (Copper Building) including – safety, quality and efficiency. Tasks are to meet and support plant objectives and production requirements in a growing environment. Hours for this position are Sunday to Thursday 10:30 pm to 6:30 am.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Organize, train, direct and control the activities of all shipping employees to provide finished products to meet schedule, quality and cost requirements as directed.

  • Ensures material availability for daily production in accordance with the production schedule while practicing and enforcing stock rotation.

  • Monitor and enforce safety standards and all rules to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

  • Operates in accordance with the provisions of the union bargaining agreement.

  • Reviews and evaluates equipment and work areas to provide an efficient and clean work environment.

  • Audits all shippers for accuracy. Ensures correct documentation is included with each shipment.

  • Calls all trucks (as needed) for pickup.

  • Coordinates shipments to and from the primary plant to the secondary plant (Copper Building)

  • Ensures ASN’s are transferred in a timely fashion, ensures cycle count is completed daily, and parts are wanded and put in assigned locations.

 

PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, proven ability to work with people, and demonstrated leadership skills

  • Knowledge of computers and ability to operate. Plex System experience helpful.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma

  • Minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience in an automotive manufacturing environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the shipping and receiving employees
