MAJOR FUNCTION:

To administer and control all manufacturing processes related to the manufacture of molded urethane products. To develop methods/processes at the most cost effective level while meeting the quality, quantity and long term objectives of the company, assists in the maintenance of equipment tooling and facilities.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Plans and coordinates production procedures, identifying process needs, improvements and changes,

and leads projects designed to implement process changes that are identified or as directed.

 

2. Develops processes to manufacture products through effective utilization of in-house build programs, outside vendor build programs and equipment vendors.

 

3. Supports the tooling needs of the plant locations by developing, implementing and directing a tooling   program that includes cost effective development of new tooling, tooling modifications, tooling   vendors/suppliers and expediting to manufacturing.

 

4. Responsible for the accurate and adequate storage of engineering records and documented to provide support and verification of process and product changes.

 

5. Prepares and provides, as required, cost analysis and justification rationales for any and all engineered changes.

 

6. Troubleshoots all urethane chemical processing issues and directs corrective action.

 

7.  Identify and manage continuous improvement projects.

 

8. Manage production projects within the facility.

 

9.  Maintains effective communications with Manufacturing, Quality Control, Material Control, Tool  Room, and Maintenance.

 

10. Updates and stays current with state-of-the-art engineering procedures, processes, materials and         manufacturing techniques in order to advise and assist various departments in meeting the objectives of the company.

 

11. May provide recommendations for new products within company objectives.

 

12. Performs special projects and other assignments as assigned.

 

13. Assists Estimating Department in establishing manufacturing time estimates.

 

14. Performs capacity studies and capacity planning in alignment with customer support.

 

15.  Creates, revises, and updates the facility plan.

 

 EDUCATION:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience with emphasis on manufacturing and process engineering.

 

PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB:

1. High degree of organization and administrative skills.

2. Continuous Improvement and Project Management experience

3.  Chemical Process experience.

4.  Some facility/tooling background skills desired.

5.  Robotics and PLC experience is a plus
